prokopetz:

Concept: a video game where the basic ending is horribly tragic, and every alternative path you can take to try and fix it just makes things worse. However, if you delete all your save files – or have never started a playthrough on that console/account in the first place – and select “Play Credits” from the options menu, you’re instead shown an alternative ending where the protagonist decides to just stay in bed that day, and somehow that causes everything to work out fine. This is the only way to get the True Ending achievement.

lolita fashion (NOT to be confused with loli/lolita cp) is so cute I just wish it were named something else

lmao then call it something else because there’s a reason it’s called lolita and they aren’t at all using it because of cute fashion.

The name Lolita has nothing to do with pedophillia. It was chosen by Japanese designers in the 70’s because it sounded old fashion and European so it fit the style. Due to a language barrier they did not know what connotations it had outside of Japan

The Lolita fashion community is very anti pedophillia, please do not try to say that we are fetishists for using the terminology our community has used since the 70s it is not our fault

Lolita fashion was intended to be intentionally childish, but not because it would be sexual to pedophiles. The original lolita fashion movement was a symbol of rebellion, of girls reclaiming their sexuality from a society that told them to dress formally at all times to find a husband.

These girls created fashion based around a little girl’s idea of fancy. It wasn’t good looking to men, but the women who wore it loved it, and that was the entire point.

Lolita fashion is basically the Flapper movement of Japan (which, for those who don’t know, was also a movement of young women defying traditional gender roles by dressing in ways they found fun instead of in ways that were deemed appropriate).

🎃👻🎃🍁🍂It’s October folks that means it’s time to…..

get your fucking flu shots!! 🎃🎃🎃

and remember: you cannot contract the flu from your flu shot. the off feeling that MAY come from it is your body’s immune response and is far more preferable to having the ACTUAL FLU

Also, if you have an immune system issue (I have lupus and another chronic illness) you may still be able to get your shot. Ask a medical professional that you trust and/or do some research.

It’s super important to maintain herd immunity for folks who can’t get a flu shot.

Vaccines are good for you, do not make the ghost of Captain America’s Disappointed Face come in the night to haunt you.

Depending on your state your Flu Shot may be covered under Medicaid!  I got mine for $2! And a Lollipop to boot!

also, some pharmacies can get you a flu shot without a doc prescription. you just walk in, ask for a flu shot, pay for it, and get it.

i know CVS is one that does this, not sure about any other pharmacy chains so you’ll have to contact them and ask

CVS, Walgreens… Honestly I think most chain stores.

Also, the flu shot is not 100% guaranteed to prevent you getting sick, but if you do get the flu your symptoms will be milder and you’ll recover faster if you’ve gotten your vaccination.

Also, the flu is not just a bad cold! Although symptoms may start similarly, it’s a serious, debilitating illness that can leave you laid up for weeks, and can have life-threatening complications for people with chronic health conditions.

If you’re able to get a flu shot, please get one. Some pharmacies even offer them for free or heavily discounted!

Remember last season how brutal the flu was? The hospital I was working at saw a couple deaths, one being a young adult with no other health conditions. So don’t take it lightly!

People with asthma should most definitely also get a flu shot because they’re one of the groups that are given priority when there’s a shortage.

I got the flu once. It’s the only time I’ve ever developed all the symptoms of an illness, too. It was terrifying because my temperature kept getting higher and higher, to the point I was taking a shit ton of ibuprofen and acetaminophen and dousing myself in cold water just to keep my temperature from going above 102F. I seriously thought I was going to have to go to the emergency room just to avoid organ damage from such a high fever. And that was while I was taking tamiflu, too, and I got the prescription the second day of symptoms. The flu knocked me out for a full week and I never really caught up with my classes after that, either.

The flu is no joke. Get a flu shot if you’re in school, around lots of people, or live with people who are around lots of people.

Things That People Have Said To Me Since I Started Working In A Yarn Shop

  • “i need more of the rowan felted tweed, i’m making some first-world-war balaclavas and i’ve run out”
  • “i’m making my husband an x-files themed jumper for christmas and i can’t find a good colour for the spaceship”
  • “do you have any wool/acrylic blends on sale, i’m making hats for the seamen’s mission to give to sailors and i know they say to use acrylics because they’re cheap but it gets awfully cold at sea and i worry”
  • “i need some black wool for gloves, but it has to be flame-proof because i’m making them for the beltane fire-jugglers”
  • “could you see if you have another copy of this pattern for a baby shawl, i’ve knitted it in different colours for all of my six children and twelve grandchildren but it’s started to fall apart a bit"
  • [from a blond, six-foot surfer dude] “yeah, do you have any really light needles, i’m going backpacking around argentina and i want to do some socks while i’m on the coach but there isn’t much room in my rucksack”
  • “which of these colours do you think would be best for a knitted corgi”
  • “do you have any patterns for dog hats”

like honestly you don’t even understand how happy this makes me, like half the time these women are really self-deprecating about it – “oh this is probably a really silly question”, “you’re going to think this is really weird but -” – and i’m just like no!! this is amazing!!! yes, we do have patterns for dog hats!!! please tell me all about why you’re knitting a dog hat!!!!

and i mean, some of the stuff they make is unbelievable. there’s one lady who knits wedding-ring shawls, these enormous lace shawls they do on shetland that’re about six feet across and made out of yarn that’s basically thread, which you can pull through a wedding ring because they’re so fine. and there’s another lady who knits dolls about three inches tall and she’s like eighty and she’s done maybe two thousand of them and i found this out yesterday when she came in for a pattern for an entire knitted nativity scene, including the animals and the star. and there’s all the ladies who knit clothes to donate to the refugees and tiny, tiny clothes for premature or stillborn babies at the maternity unit and hats for the seamen’s mission and jumpers for the homeless, and all the ladies making this incredible stuff for their friends or their relatives or just because they feel like it, and it’s just, they’re my favourite, every single one of these people is my favourite

The husband getting the x-files sweater is a very lucky person. Spouse goals af.
