I was checking out at Walmart, and as I was reaching for my bags I said, “Happy Holidays!” And the cashier leaned in like she was sharing a secret and said “Merry Christmas.” So I smiled politely and said, “Blessed Yule!” And the look that spread across her face, you would have thought I’d literally stolen Christmas from her.
If you’re going to make a point of wishing me a happy whatever-you-celebrate, I’m going to make a point of wishing you a happy whatever-I-celebrate, and if you think that’s wrong you should consider getting “hypocrite” tattooed across your forehead.
It’s that time of year again
A post I made has officially become an “it’s that time of year again” post and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t honored
Look I might not be Christian, but I celebrate Christmas. If you celebrate a different tradition then wish/bless me with your ‘this time of year’ tradition! You’re not being rude, you’re sharing yourself with me, just like I’m sharing myself with you.
Personally, I think it’s fun.
This!
But also don’t tell me what I can say for the holidays. I celebrate Christmas even though I’m not Christian, so by default I say ”Merry Christmas!”
But you’re more than welcome to say back whatever it is you celebrate. Just don’t police what I can say, and I won’t police you either
Let us all celebrate whatever the fuck it is we celebrate
I had to learn more about this little guy. Turns out this is a voiced over video for comedy. His name is Wilfred Warrior. He’s a Chinchilla Persian from London, and he has an INSTAGRAM.
Although He looks like a sad goblin, He is very loved
And very happy ❤
I feel better now knowing the cat wasn’t actually being yelled at or mocked.
It’s amazing how there is a generation of people who hate Stan Lee for ???
The man, even in his early years denounced racism as a special type of evil that can’t be defeated with a bullet.
Marvel was the first mainstream comic to show a gay marriage.
And the accusations of him sexually harassing a nurse were false. and proven to be false.
The man has denounced racism and promoted tolerance and diversity for years, much more than what most people who age would have ever dared consider. Hell, he created Black Panther, the first black comic hero.
But all because the man didn’t want to make Peter Parker black and bisexual he obviously is a racist and homophobe… Despite…
Luke Cage
Falcon
Storm
Spider Girl (Corazon)
Miles Morales
Moonstar
Karma
Black Panther
Shuri
Kimura
Lady Deathstrike
Echo
Jubilee
Monet St. Croix
Hulkling
America Chavez
Northstar and hosting the first gay marriage depicted in mainstream comics IN 1992 WAY BEFORE GAY MARRIAGE WAS EVEN LEGALIZED
Valkyrie
Wiccian and many others…
But y’all asses over here fucking ignoring the shit out of them like the only thing Stan Lee and Marvel ever made was Spiderman and Peter Parker all because the man doesn’t think that you should redefine established or preexisting characters. Why?
Because he believed in creating NEW characters, new characters who had their OWN personalities, who had their OWN stories, who had their OWN fans
He wanted to make new things, not redefine what already exists. He wanted to make NEW characters and stories that people could connect to. NEW characters who could stand on their own as opposed to just being “This character but now xyz.”
He wanted characters who had their own life and vibrancy to them.
Yet y’all asses fucking mad he didn’t make Peter Parker black while you ignoring the fuck out of Miles Morales. Yet y’all asses are mad he didn’t make Peter Parker bi or gay while ignoring the fact that the Marvel comic version of Deadpool and Loki are both bisexual.
Y’all fucking ignoring the POC and LGBT+ characters that exist in the Marvel universe all because you wanna be like ~~uwu 20gayteen~~
Until y’all asses start recognizing POC and LGBT+ characters THAT ALREADY EXIST you don’t get to say shit about anything else being gay.
DON’T SIT THERE AND IGNORE CANON LGBT AND POC CHARACTERS AND THEN ACT LIKE STAN LEE WAS A RACIST OR HOMOPHOBIC BIGOT
As a POC and, I guess I’m thrown into the LGBT+ community now, myself I don’t WANT to see Peter Parker as xyz. Peter Parker is Peter Parker, and he has his own quirks and such that make him unique.
Having a character made ON PURPOSE to be like ME? Someone I can look up to and was carefully created like that on purpose?
That’s not only far more genuine, but it also gives that character the chance to make history, and to inspire other people for generations instead of just a quick minute because we want something now.
And THIS is why lace was a worn primarily by royalty and aristocracy for so many centuries.. It was expensive and time-consuming to produce. Wearing it, and wearing LOTS of it was a blatant show of wealth and excessive consumption.
Mechanically-produced lace wasn’t really a thing until well into the 20th century, but there remains a wide gap between the quality of mass-produced and hand crafted
In general textile arts are highly underated considering the amount of skill and time needed to execute pretty much anything.
