there’s a lot of arguing on my dash lately over adults and minors interacting here on tumblr but it’s honestly REALLY fucking simple, just don’t be creepy. Don’t talk to minors about your fucking fetishes and shit or pry into them about their dating lives or get all weirdass personal. If something would be “awkward” to talk about with a random stranger you just met at a bus stop, it’s probably too much for a grown adult to talk about with a teenage kid.

“But what if I don’t even know their age???” some people ask.

Well here’s a shocker for you, maybe it’s creepy to spring sexual or overly personal talk on anybody you don’t know that well???? Maybe???

This goes both ways too. It’s one thing to ask for advice on sensitive or mature topics* from a person you trust. It is another entirely to pry into someone’s personal life, overshare your own personal life, or try to solicit interations of a sexual nature. This goes for any age group including people in your own bracket. Don’t be creepy. Ask before sharing something that has potential to be sensitive. Respect stated boundaries. Be cool and everyone can get along.

*Keep in mind, even if you trust an adult, unless they have a relevant degree, the perspective is always going to be one of personal or anecdotal experience, and ymmv. Try to fact check and cross reference sources.
