In KJSE, we never actually saw him DIE. Sure, his heart stopped–we heard the flatline. But that doesn’t always mean it’s the end. Lemme drop some medical knowledge.
When the heart stops, that’s a Code Blue, which basically means that a team of doctors immediately start chest compressions to oxygenate the body again. However, the longer the brain goes without oxygen, the more damaged it gets. Usually around the ten minute mark, there’s a good chance the patient will suffer permanent brain damage after being revived.
There’s a very good chance that when Jack’s heart started again, his brain was so damaged that remained in a coma in the hospital. That might explain why Jack is seemingly “stuck inside is own head” with Anti–Anti is still inside of him, but his body is too damaged to sustain itself apart from the machine that’s supporting him.
It also might explain the bleeding and raspy breath–it’s very common for doctors to break ribs during chest compressions.
