The thing that gets me about VRChat is that it’s literally exactly what cyberpunk authors in the late 1980s and early 1990s though the social side of the Internet would look like. Every single VRChat screenshot or video I’ve ever seen reads like something straight out of Snow Crash. Like, this is it – this is the future we were promised.
